Terms of Service & API Policies

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, generating an API key, or sending requests to any DataGuru API endpoint (including https://api.dataguru.cc/api/v1/*), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are accepting on behalf of an organization or team, you represent and warrant that you have full authority to bind that entity.

2. Acceptable Use & Scraping Policy

DataGuru provides programmatic access to publicly accessible data. You agree NOT to use the service to:

• Collect non-public, personally identifiable medical, biometric, or classified data.
• Conduct Denial of Service (DoS) attacks or intentionally overload external target platforms.
• Circumvent configured rate limits, concurrency caps, or quota restrictions using unauthorized duplicate accounts.
• Resell or redistribute raw DataGuru API access as a competing scraping proxy without explicit written consent.

3. API Key Security & Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys. Any requests authenticated with your API credentials will be billed to your account and attributed to your usage limits.

4. Rate Limits, Pricing & Fair Use

API requests are debited against your available wallet balance according to per-endpoint rates, subject to standard per-second burst concurrency limits. If your wallet balance is exhausted or rate limits are exceeded, requests will receive appropriate HTTP status codes (402 Payment Required or 429 Too Many Requests). DataGuru reserves the right to throttle abusive traffic to ensure quality of service for all consumers.

5. Data Privacy & Request Logging

DataGuru records metadata for each request (timestamp, endpoint called, response status, latency, request ID) for the purpose of accurate usage billing and debugging in your Developer Portal. We do not inspect or sell your private search parameters or extracted data payloads.

6. Service Level Agreement (SLA) & Warranty

While DataGuru strives for 99.99% service availability and resilient upstream scrapers, external third-party platforms may occasionally alter page layouts or experience localized downtime. We provide fast automated adapter updates but disclaim warranties for upstream website outages outside our direct control.

7. Termination & Cancellation

You may discontinue use or close your account at any time through the Developer Portal settings. Any remaining funded wallet balance remains subject to our standard account refund and security policies.
